Reiki

My Story

We’d just had our second miscarriage, after a horrific HG pregnancy with constant nausea and vomiting. To say we were disappointed was an understatement. My body was in a state of shock, my spirit was traumatized, and the medical bills didn’t seem to stop flowing.

Cue Reiki

Experiencing extreme vertigo and faintness after a blood transfusion and D&C, I sought help from my chiropractor, my midwives, and the follow-up doctors. Nothing helped.

I remembered reiki. I went to one appointment, dizzy as could be, and at the end of the appointment, the vertigo had vanished and I joyfully walked out of the appointment.

Sedona

By a series of events that I consider miraculous, I was able to travel to Sedona and receive reiki training.

I felt like I’d been doing this my whole life! Learning reiki felt like coming home.

A Reiki Miracle

To date, I have completed dozens of reiki sessions since my training with birth and postpartum doula clients, as well as others outside of the maternity sphere.

My heart is full of gratitude for the shifts I have been privileged to witness in my clients.

I’ll share one story of healing here. A birth client had experienced a previous spinal injury years before pregnancy that had never quite healed completely.

Pregnancy aggravated the injury, but labor really locked up my client’s back. She could not feel her extremities after birth, numb in her legs and hands.

The lack of feeling meant she would not get to return home after a grueling labor and delivery.

I visited her in her hospital room, and did a reiki session with her. As soon as we finished the session, she said, “I feel tingling in my hands and legs!”

She returned home the next day, being able to walk without assistance.
